America, It is Time to Forgive and Forget Young Ivy Men like Brock Turner

In the grand scheme of life, what is 20 minutes?  Media has encouraged the general public to arm with pitchforks and ATTACK a bright, Standford-educated young man who was on track to be an orthopedic surgeon.

In 20-minutes, all of this bright future turned dark because the young man was under the influence of alcohol, a liquid demon that society has failed to inform stressed young men in fraternities all about.

After a long year of studying for grueling tests, withstanding the rigors of Ivy-league training for swimming, and with his fraternity brothers egging him on, of course it is easy for a young-man to imbibe some alcohol.

But what is simply not fair is all the media pitchforks.  Where is the balancing line between the need to punish someone and the need to forgive?

It was not like this young man was out trying to peddle cigarettes in New York , or jaywalking across the street, or being rowdy at a pool party and trying to swim where they were not welcome.

In a world where we forgive our leaders for far greater things, what is the harm in forgiving a future leader for a 20-minute oopsies?

There is a bigger story to be told here.  Under the pressures of modern society, our leaders shall fall sometimes.  But hopefully, as a society, we can learn to forgive and forget, so they may stand tall again.
