In a Tweet that was flagged as promoting violence by Twitter, President Trump weighed in on the protesters angered over the death of George Floyd by promising to unleash the US military and ending the Tweet with a cryptic, "When the looting starts, the shooting starts."
Some speculate this means Trump will order the military to fire on US citizens. While some people in the area have started to raid and riot stores and other businesses, protesters have made it known that these people are not necessarily part of the group of protesters demanding justice for the death of George Floyd.
Controversy started after video of a police officer kneeling on Floyd's neck, effectively restricting his oxygen intake as it let out pleas of 'I can't breathe'. People who have been put into chokeholds or have had restricted air intake confirm that you can gurgle and let out last desperate pleads, countering remarks that have jeopardized the credibility of a Mississippi mayor.
